I believe in the importance of reflecting on the year that has passed and planning for the one ahead. Some questions you might ask yourself: Was 2013 the year you had hoped it to be? Do you have a vision for 2014? Is it an individual or a shared vision? Do you have a reasonable chance of achieving your goals?
Without proper reflection and planning, it is hard to make the changes necessary to achieve your desired future. While it may not be easy, there are some proven steps that can help.
- With your partner, write a vision for well being and happiness in 2014.
- Set three specific goals: one for health, one for work, and one for family
- Post these goals where you see them daily
- Discuss and coordinate your goals with your family, your work team, or those closest to you.
- On a regular basis, measure your progress
You might also find that participating in a structured goal achievement program might help. Next week, I will be launching a new session of Goal Achievers Connect, a series of quarterly seminars designed to help individuals and couples set and achieve meaningful goals.
Here are the topics which will be covered:
Session 1 Envisioning Your Preferred Future
Session 2 Finding Your Career Sweet Spot
Session 3 Discovering Your Happiness Quotient
Session 4 Maintaining Focus in a Highly Distractable World
If you are interested in attending the January 14th session of Goal Achievers Connect, you can find more information and register here.
