With uncertainty about the Covid pandemic growing, on Friday, January 7, from 8 to 9 AM, I will host a Zoom conversation with three healthcare professionals from the St. Joe system who will provide an update about the situation. Doctors Rob McCurdy and Matthew Ajulini, and PA Suzy Francoeur, who are practitioners of emergency medicine, have been on the front lines of treating people who have been affected by the Covid virus. Register for the event here.
As we enter the third year of this crisis, several questions remain about what to expect and how to manage and how to best avoid the virus. Here are some of the questions which the panel hopes to address.
-
What is it safe for us to do and what should we avoid?
-
How does the omicron variant affect children?
-
How well are the healthcare system able to take care of all the people who are getting sick?
-
How are healthcare providers managing to cope with the excessive stress which they’ve experienced for over two years now?
-
How do we test to be sure we are not spreading the virus?
-
Where can we find test kits?
-
How well do the vaccinations protect us?
-
How can we deal with friends and family members who remain unvaccinated?
-
When can we anticipate reaching a turning point when Covid will no longer be a pandemic, but more like an epidemic, such as the flu?
-
Is it inevitable that all of us will it one time get sick from Covid?
I would also like to hear from you what other questions you may have for the panel on January 7.
So please join us via Zoom on Friday, January from 8am – 9am to hear doctors Rob McCurdy and Matthew Ajulin
