We are proud to announce that Rob Pasick’s CEO/Leaders Connect will be presenting a theme for the rest of the year: Michigan Leaders Read Michigan Authors. We will be featuring seven predominate Michigan authors, who have recently written books which contain powerful lessons for every Michigan leader. This theme is a variation on a program which I started about 10 years ago in collaboration with Kathleen MacDonald, Rich Sheridan, and Matt Sharp.
The concept is to have Michigan leaders read one book a month, and to discuss the books in person with the author. It is our hope, that leaders throughout the state will read and use the books to stimulate a healthy conversation about the concepts of good leadership in the State of Michigan.
As our economy continues to recover, it is important to remember the tremendous leadership talent we have in our state. Furthermore, for our state to be successful and regain the strength it once had, we must remember the importance of buying, and reading, locally. We are encouraging our readers to continue our “in state” theme by buying these books locally where possible, such as Ann Arbor book stores Nicola’s Books and Literati. (Gary Magenta’s book is currently only available through Amazon)
Here are the seven books which will be featured:
- March 14th– Gary Magenta, The Un-Bossy Boss
- April 11th– Rich Sheridan, Joy Inc.
- May 2nd– Vic Strecher, On Purpose
- June 6th– Ari Weinzweig, A Lapsed Anarchist’s Guide to Managing Ourselves
- September– Wayne Baker, United America
- October 17th– James Tobin, The Man He Became
- November 7th– Larry Freed, Innovating Analytics
