One of my wishes is to make the Dr. Rob’s Monday Newsletter more interactive. Going forward, I would like to include more of my reader’s thoughts/ideas/resources. To help you to get more involved/connected, I would like to provide some prompts in the way of questions.

Here are some of my answers to these questions:

Musicians/acts I saw in Detroit in the 60s: Joni Mitchell, Smokey Robinson, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, the Temptations, Tom Rush, The Supremes, Little Stevie Wonder (his first performance), Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, Buffy Sainte Marie, Judy Collins, and Marvin Gaye.

Most useful in helping me cope: My wife, Pat; Leaders Connect zoom casts almost every other week; meditation daily; Zoom reunions with friends I hadn’t seen for 40 or 50 years; Zoom dinners with friends.

Drained me the most: Not seeing my friends and family.

Inspired me: My 98-year-old mother-in-law Jean Carino, who has kept going and stayed cheerful, mostly living alone in independent living at Brookhaven.

New activity: My mother-in-law Jean, taught me to play mah-jongg and managed to beat me regularly.

TV series: My Brilliant Friend and the Bureau.

I have been fortunate to be part of a monthly book group. The best book so far is Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell. The most helpful book is Chatter by Ethan Kross. He also gave an outstanding presentation at LeadersConnect. Watch the video HERE.

Most difficult was definitely worrying about my family and friends who had Covid. Fortunately, all have survived.

Most appreciate: The healthcare professionals, including therapists, who have stepped up fearlessly to help us get through this crisis.
