25 years Leaders Connect and a Free Gift
This week, in celebration of 25 years of Leaders Connect, I present to you a gift: The 100 video archive of the Leaders Connect breakfasts.
Consistently over the 25 years, the goals of Leaders Connect have been simple:
1. To provide a comfortable setting for leaders in the community to get to know each other, i.e to connect.
2. Through interactive presentations by leaders from throughout Southeast Michigan, to provide educational and motivational knowledge so that our leaders can keep current, competitive, and cooperative.
3. To create a community of leaders from business, non- profits, government, and education.
Over the 25 years we have held events in four different settings.
First, starting in 1996 in the upstairs room of Zingerman’s Next Door. Bob Quinn of the University of Michigan Ross School of Business was our very first speaker.
Secondly, moving to the IT Zone, the predecessor to SPARK, we provided three years of activity through morning events. Thanks to Diane Durance for enabling these sessions and for contributing to the content.
Next, we moved the event to Zingerman’s Roadhouse, where we have operated until the Covid crisis of 2021. Since 2011, Roger Rayle has been videotaping the morning events. It’s also when we began to start at 7 AM, a ridiculous time to get people going. Surprisingly, the time has worked well; 50 to 100 people showed up regularly for these events. Many others watch the events on my YouTube channel. We were able to provide these sessions for free thanks to the support of our sponsors Zingerman’s, Bank of Ann Arbor, Rehmann, and Office Evolution.
In 2017 with Michael Cole of The Bank of Ann Arbor and Michael Dergis of Sigrid Solutions we launched Leaders Connect Detroit.
Since the beginning of the Covid crisis, we have done numerous Leaders Connect events via Zoom. We have tried to keep our readers up to date on the latest information about managing through the crisis. All of these events were also recorded and are available on YouTube.
If you download the attached document and click through these events, you will be able to access hundreds of excellent programs. You might want to view these events alone, or use them as part of your staff leadership training in your organization.
