“What you can conceive and believe, you can achieve”
-Napoleon Hill 1937
I’ve had the great fortune to work with hundreds of successful men and women over the past 30 years, and most of them have one thing in common: they are focused on the process of goal setting as a means to achieve a successful, productive, and happy life.
I first learned about Napoleon Hill and about the importance of goal setting in 1968 from Al Fann, a teacher and director of a youth theater company in Harlem. I have been using this methodology ever since and, through the study of psychology, have continually expanded upon it. Ten years ago, based on these practices, I started a project called “The Goal Achievement Community.” Through this community, over a hundred men and women have successfully applied this methodology to move toward their visions of success.
On November 22nd at our CEO Connect, I will be presenting an interactive workshop on the Art and Science of Goal Setting and the Goal Achievement Community. If you have not already received an invitation to this event and would like to attend, please respond to this email to request an invite.
Here is the outline of my goal setting program which I will be presenting:
- Conceive of what you want to achieve in three key areas of life: family, career, and health (both physical and mental)
- Select one goal in each domain
- Make a solid commitment to the your goals by: writing them down, posting them in a place where you’ll see them daily, and sharing them with the significant people in your life
- Set a date and plan for achieving the goals, and find a way to measure your progress
- Through the process of mindfulness and visualization, train your mind to believe in what you want to achieve
- Since you know you will encounter obstacles and face distinct challenges, establish a resiliency strategy to stay focused on the goals you want to achieve
- Celebrate progress, success, and never rest on your laurels
If you are not looking to attend CEO Connect but would like more information on the Goal Achievement Community, or would like to start a community in your workplace or organization, please also feel free to email us or respond to this email.
I would like to receive an invite for Friday’s CEO connect.
Hi Mr. Shepherd,
I am sorry that we did not see this earlier. We are having some trouble with spam comments on our page and yours got lost in the mix. I greatly apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
I will add you to our CEO Connect invite list so that you will receive all invites in the future.
Kindest Regards,
Rachel
